The alveolar approximant may also be realized as an alveolar trill for emphasis.

All vowels have three tones: high (á), mid (a) and low (à).

Phonotactics

All words begin with a consonant, but otherwise consonants are unnecessary, and indeed many words are made up entirely of vowels beyond the initial consonant. Vowels are not glided on account of the strict moraic-timing of the language. Vowels may extend for up to three morae without changing quality or tone.

Consonant clusters do not ever appear, and consonants never appear in coda position.
